Great 38 Weather Update
The threat of inclement weather has only recently developed. Run Oxford is actively monitoring the situation. We will proceed with the race if it is raining. If lightning is in the vicinity, we will consult with University and Oxford police and make a decision about the race as early as possible. We will delay the race before taking any other action. Thanks for your understanding.

Chucky Mullins #38 will forever be a legend at The University of Mississippi. Orphaned as a child and later adopted by his high school coach, he overcame life’s obstacles and went on to play football for Ole Miss. Sadly, Chucky lost his life due to an injury obtained during a football game. Run Oxford along with UM Athletics partnered with Palmer Home for Children to make The Great 38 the most meaningful and inspirational run in Mississippi in 2016. Over 800 participants ran either 3 or 8 miles through the beautiful award winning UM campus, down the Walk of Champions, and into Vaught Hemingway Football Stadium where they saw themselves on the new Jumbotron as they crossed the 38 yard line finish!
